Below are a number of projects undertaken throughout the redesign of our back garden, building on the theme of 'grow', 'cook', 'eat' and 'relax'

Raised beds for growing herbs, fruits and veg

Assembled beds placed in position on grass Grass now removed from the area under and around the raised beds. Raised beds now painted green and lined. Edging being put in place between raised beds and lawn area Edging between lawn and raised bed area now in place, weed resistant lining in progress Weed resistant lining on area surrounding raised beds now completed Decorative stone and pavers in place on area surrounding raised beds Beds now filled with topsoil / compost mixture Cold frame constructed to fit over half of one of the raised beds Crops! Brick built BBQ

Cleared ground between the raised beds and main patio area Additional space cleared, removing footings from previous patio Wooden frame to contain concrete footings Concrete footings being laid Completed concrete footings, frame still in place First four pavers laid on BBQ base 12 pavers laid - final edge to complete First bricks being arranged on top of completed paved base First 2 courses of bricks in place Brickwork progressing - 6 courses complete, 7th in progress Checking BBQ fits correctly - supported on protruding bricks BBQ racks in place, supported on metal lugs, and worktops added to cupboards either side Wooden, green painted doors added to cupboards either side Wooden (but metal lined) enclosure added to BBQ for additional flexibility

Main patio area - for outside dining

Area for future patio cleared, although existing shed will require moving Mixer ready for work Footings in progress Footings progressing Lighting being installed to illuminate front wall of patio Patio slabs stacked ready for laying First slabs laid, slabs for circle being positioned Most slabs now laid, but current location of shed is preventing completion Surrounding wall, including integrated light bricks, being built Existing shed being rotated to provide more space Completed patio, with dining table in place - rear fence also renewed

Relaxing area with pergola
